2014-2015 SCHOOL CALENDAR REVIEW
On April 15, 2014 the District Board approved the following calendar. It was suggested by Board Member, Frank Delgado, that an explanation be provided to the public. Above is a link to a YouTube video that Matt Lyon and I put together to further explain the details of the calendar. If you would like more information or clarification, please don't hesitate to contact my office.
Have a great day,

CALENDAR SURVEY INFORMATION
First of all, I want to encourage everyone to complete the Calendar Survey as sent out to parents and made available to the public. Go to Calendar Survey and provide valuable input on the 2014-2015 Calendar selection.
The survey closes at midnight April 10, 2014.
With that in mind, several people have asked: What are the "Culminating Events" on the Calendar choices; specifically, February 20 and 27. (Its a good question and I promised Penny Kipp I would send out an explanation on Facebook and my blog). Therefore, here it is: these are days that district and regional basketball are taking place. These events are scheduled by the State Activities Association. Our school not only sends girls and boys basketball teams, but pep band members in grades 6-12 as well as cheerleaders. A significant number of children attend these activities and are not at school. On calendars 1, 3, and 4 there is no school on these days.
If there are any other question you are having with the calendar survey, please don't hesitate to give us a call at the district office. We look forward to your calendar responses.

SNOW DAY MAKE UP
As you know, our district has had to cancel school twice due to weather conditions. The first day because of boiler malfunctions (-27 degree temperatures) and the second day because of weather conditions and travel advisories. The state provides one permissive day, but we must make up the second. Fortunately, our calendar has a snow day built in on March 31, 2014; therefore, we will be having school on March 31, 2014 to make up for the snow day taken on Monday, February 24, 2014.
MARK YOUR CALENDARS: School will be in session on Monday, March 31 2014.

2013-2014 SELECTED CALENDAR
by Superintendent Robert "Bob" Lewandowski
On April 21, 2013 at its regular meeting, the St. Ignatius School Board #28 selected OPTION #2 as the 2013-2014 CALENDAR.
Special thanks to the Calendar Committee for developing, surveying and providing valuable input and options for this selection process. The Calendar Committee recommended the following calendar prioritization based upon their interpretation of the survey results: Calendar #3, #2, #1 and #4. The Board selected Calendar #2 as the most viable option noting there were more "dislikes" and "strongly dislikes" on Calendar #3 that #2. If you would like to see the results go to: 2013-2014 Calendar Survey.
I would like to thank everyone for their input and time spent reviewing and filling out the Calendar Survey.

Breakfast is Served!
by Superintendent Robert "Bob" Lewandowski
I am not sure what is on the menu, but this coming Monday, October 3, 2011 the district is serving a free breakfast for all our students' parents/guardians starting at 7:30 AM until 9:00 AM (we will stop serving at 8:30 AM to prepare for student lunches).
We hope this will offer our community an opportunity to find out more about Mission Schools.
This is our Kick-Off Breakfast. It starts on the first day of Mission's Homecoming Week. It is a great way to mobilize our community! We hope we will be able to address any questions you may have and provide information on how parents and community members can get involved. We hope to introduce you to the parent and student organizations that make a difference in our school. The coffee will be hot and our new Head Cook, Mrs. Karen Belluomini promises great food!
See you Monday Morning over a hot cup of coffee!
