CPR Anytime Training

Middle school students were given the opportunity to learn a valuable lesson on how to save a life. The program was provided by the American Heart Association. It is designed to teach the core skills of Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in just 22 minutes.
The program lasted an entire period. Students learned by watching a video and practicing on a manikin. Each student receives a course kit to take home and practice. The kit includes the manikin, a DVD that can be used to refresh skills, a skills reminder card to carry and manikin wipes and replacement lung for those interested in sharing the kit.

When lives may be a stake, it is nice to know these students will be prepared for a cardiovascular emergency. Thank you American Heart Association and Missoula business supporters for bring this training to Mission.

Tracking Track

The St. Ignatius/Ronan Track Cooperative is in its 16th year. Both boys and girls at Mission and Ronan share the same colors, coaches and facilities. It has been a relationship that has resulted in success. As classifications are shuffled around, it could effect the future cooperative. I am sure that both schools will do everything possible to maintain this cooperative endeavor.  I have had the opportunity to attend the first two track meets at Corvallis and Ronan. It is great to see rivalries come together as a team and compete together.

Girls Softball Down And Dirty

The Lady Bulldogs' first game of the season was met with wet weather. Our Ladies opened at home against Deer Lodge on March 30, 2012. As the game progressed, so did the rain. By the end of the game, the field looked like Gene Kelly had just danced across it. It became a muddy mess. The Bulldogs persevered to over come the weather challenges, closing out the match with the 10 point mercy rule in the sixth inning winning 15-5.  Well done Bulldogs!

MIssion Valley All-Stars

The Mission Valley All-Star Boys and Grils Basketball games held at SKC didn't disappoint the crowd. The boys game went down to the last second. There weren't a lot of opportunities for the usual all-star showboating that is common in most all-star games as the desire to win the game took president. It was enjoyable to watch both matches.

Mission was represented by Austin Durglo and Dillon Evens for the boys; and Lauren Erickson, Brenna Steel and Stephanie Lewandowski for the girls. Brenna was not able to participate due to a late season injury. All of these athletes had a great season for the Bulldogs. We were proud to have them represent our school.

Well done Bulldog Basketball!
