Playground Equipment Planning Meeting

The District is forming a committee of interested stakeholders, like yourselves, to meet and review the playground equipment bids to layout a strategic plan for raising funds and implementing the selected equipment.

The first Committee Meeting will meet on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at 6:00 PM in the District Board Room. I am encouraging everyone who is interested in this cause to come and share your thoughts and ideas on this project. This project is a community and school undertaking. Like most small communities, the school playgrounds have been utilized by the community of Mission year around. It is time to update our playground equipment to provide children a save and accessible opportunity for play. Please join our efforts on Tuesday, July 26, 2011.

The agenda is as follows:
  1. Review Dakota Fence Bids
  2. Review Ouellette Recreation Design Bids

Back to School - Community Service Opportunity

Part of our students' graduation requirements include community service hours. Community service is an opportunity to develop our students beyond the expectation of academics, but also develop a sense of service and obligation to the community in which they live.

On Monday, July 25 2011, the district office will host a community service opportunity for students who are earning hours towards graduation. If you are graduating in 2012 or 2013 you will need a minimum of thirty (30) community service hours. If you are graduating after 2013, you will need forty (40) community service hours. All interested students,  incoming freshmen through seniors, please report to the Joyce Easter Commons in the High School at 8:00 AM. The community service opportunity will last until noon. Students will be awarded four (4) hours. Wear work clothing as we will address our community facility needs on the courts and fields.

I hope to see you there.

Setting The Pace!

by Superintendent Robert "Bob" Lewandowski

Welcome to MISSION!

It was great to be back from vacation and see the fantastic job done on the gym floor. The pictures I have posted do not do the floor justice. It really is a spectacle to see. You walk in the new entry in the high school and are greeted by a renovated gym facility that oozes school spirit and pride. There is a 20 foot bulldog in the center of the floor surrounded by thick blue boundary lines with MISSION on both ends. I can't wait until our students and fans have their first experience on it.

This next school year holds a lot of promise. Our academic focus on student success is becoming more acute. Our activity programs have high expectations after having very successful seasons this last year. As the facilities are being readied for the start of school, it's hard not to get excited.  HCA (Home Court Advantage) will be well supported by clean, well kept facilities! Well done building and grounds crew! Things are looking real good!

At Mission, we have "HCA Baby!"
